Sovereign AI Brain 7.0.3

The Start button now sets the gateway up instead of refusing

The gateway service is created by the setup wizard and by nothing else, so a Brain installed from the installer never had one — and Start checked for it rather than creating it. It now creates it. And when something does fail, you are told why.

Start builds what is missing

The gateway is the part of your Brain that listens for the other machine. It runs as a background service, and that service was created by the setup wizard and by nothing else — the installer ships no copy of it. So every Brain installed from the installer had no gateway service at all, and pressing Start checked for it, found nothing, and stopped: “Gateway Start Failed”, with no reason and an instruction to open a terminal. Nothing was broken. There was simply nothing to start. Start now creates the service when it is missing, enables it so it returns after a restart, and starts it.

A failure no longer takes the app down with it

A failure no longer takes the app down with it

The check behind that button exited the whole process instead of reporting a problem — a kind of exit the app cannot catch, so the reason never reached your screen even when the system had given one. It now raises an ordinary error the app can read and show, and the app’s own restart path has been moved onto the same repair. It also no longer discards the system’s explanation when a restart fails.

And no step asks you to open a terminal

And no step asks you to open a terminal

A customer should never be handed a shell command. This release removes the last one that was being shown to owners. If any screen ever tells you to type a command, that is a defect — report it and we will fix it.

Updating

How to update

One download, one install. No terminal.

  1. 1Sign in and open Account → Get Brain. Your download sits at the top of the page.
  2. 2Double-click the downloaded file and choose Install. Fedora may ask for your password — that prompt is your computer, not us.
  3. 3Reopen Sovereign AI Brain. It sets its own services up and starts them. Nothing else to run.
  4. 4Check the download first if you like: the sha256 above is the exact file we published.

Signed with Centurion’s release key. No reboot is needed — reopening the Brain is enough. Your data, your Soul and your sessions are untouched by this update.

Verification

Before you install

Fedora’s Software app labels anything it does not recognise as Provided by a third party. That is a statement about provenance, not about Centurion — every vendor package installed this way is labelled the same. Our builds are signed with Centurion’s release key, and the values below let you check that what arrived is what we published.
